An etching of Zinka Milanov

Zinka Milanov, Etching pulled on Arches paper by Irmgard Rawn,
                                              Santa Monica, 1989 (Artist's proof)

Any author desirous of sharing his or her work in order to provoke interest in it wants to be as generous as possible with examples while at the same time holding in reserve more than enough to make acquisition of the book from which they are drawn seem almost a necessity to the reader who has been exposed to them. These glimpses of the extraordinary life of Zinka Milanov are thus calibrated to awaken the desire to know everything about her and a general dissatisfaction with being left in a state of not knowing everything. The excerpts aren’t through-composed portions of the book manuscript but have been adapted for this format, with no indication given of the placement of omitted material. Check back from time to time for changes. Meanwhile, please enjoy what’s here.
